Katie Brick is a multidisciplinary artist based out of Athens, Georgia whose work ranges from functional pottery and figurative sculpture to colorful paintings and mixed media work.

Katie has spent much of her life moving between her creative practice and work centered on service and human connection. She earned a BFA in Ceramics from the University of GA in 2011 before completing a year-long post baccalaureate program at Cal State Long Beach.  Volunteering with Kate's Club shifted her career trajectory and lead her to pursue her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which she received from Georgia State University in 2017. After many years working as a trauma therapist, she is now returning to the studio with a renewed appreciation and passion for making as a way to play, express emotions, explore the human condition, and deepen connection with herself and others.

The designs in her paintings and pottery tend to be driven by intuition; bright palettes, layered patterns, organic shapes, flowing lines, and recuring symbolic motifs create a visual language that moves between her 2D and 3D work. Each piece develops organically, allowing the process itself to guide the final composition. Alongside her more abstract work, Katie's sculptural pieces explore the emotional depths of human experience. Through figurative forms, she investigates themes around memories, trauma, grief, relationships, identity, resilience, and transformation.

Katie believes creativity is meant to be shared and is working toward creating opportunities for artists to connect, create, and grow together in the future.
